Our evolutionary firmware only allows us to see certain kinds of beings. The emerging field of diverse intelligence promises to address our mind-blindness in the same way that the modern theory of electromagnetism unified a variety of disparate phenomena and gave us access to an enormous spectrum of possibility well beyond the thin band of visible light. In this talk, we describe a strategy for detecting, creating, and communicating with a wide variety of unconventional beings.
